A family story spanning four generations
In 1931, Jozef “Jefke” Thomas started a garage for Hanomag and began selling Ford tractor units. His son Joris “Georges” Thomas took the step towards agricultural cranes, laying the foundation for the expertise we are known for today.
In the early 1980s, the focus shifted entirely to aerial work platforms. Sons Eric and Joris took over the company and expanded it into a renowned player in the aerial work platform industry, with a worldwide reputation.
The fourth generation takes over the torch
In 2008, Michiel Thomas, son of Eric, joined as the fourth generation. Under his leadership, the company continued to grow with Thomas Kranen for exclusive aerial work platforms on tractors and Thomas Rental for hire.
Thomas & Ufkes: one strong brand
In 2026, Thomas Hoogwerkers and Ufkes Greentec joined forces. This collaboration combines decades of experience in aerial work platforms with expertise in Greentec machines. Today, Thomas & Ufkes is ready to serve you with a complete range of machines, expert service, and the Belgian quality that we have stood for for nearly 60 years.

This 2,400 m² production facility has all the facilities you would expect from a modern machine factory. Our workshop is spaciously designed and equipped with plenty of natural light, allowing employees to carry out their work safely, efficiently and without any obstacles.
Sustainability is central to the design and use of the building. This not only focuses on energy savings, but also explicitly on the well-being of employees. This is reflected in ergonomically designed workstations, the use of overhead cranes and a fully equipped, comfortable canteen.
