“At Thomas & Ufkes, you truly get custom work, no standard solutions.”
Brems has been an established name in the roofing industry for 11 generations. We visited them in Vilvoorde to hear how they approach their work and what role Thomas & Ufkes plays in it.
How did you end up at Thomas & Ufkes?
Guido Brems: “We were looking for an aerial work platform that truly met our needs. With the big players, I either couldn’t find what I was looking for, or the prices were out of proportion. Thomas & Ufkes stood out because of their central location in Belgium and because they took the time to listen to our story.”
What made the difference in your choice?
Guido Brems: “Two things: the personal approach and the price. With the big players, you’re just a number. Here, you speak with people who know what they’re selling and who think along with you about what you need. And the price? It’s significantly lower than the competition, without compromising on quality or working height. The 28-meter working height on a truck is a real advantage for our roofing activities.”
Did you also have specific requirements in terms of equipment? How did that go?
Guido Brems: “That was exactly the big advantage. We wanted to have storage boxes and a ladder rack mounted on the aerial platform, so that one dedicated team can carry all the necessary equipment in that single machine. No extra van, no delays. At Thomas & Ufkes, that was no problem at all. The configuration options are extensive, and they’re willing to work with you to find a solution. That’s what I call customization.”
